My name is Deacon Blaine Barclay and I am the Diocesan representative for the Pontifical Missionary Society and its related organizations. At present there is an exciting renewal taking place in the worldwide Pontifical Missionary Societies. It is very centred on the person of Christ and the call for all of us, Priests, Deacons, Religious, and Laity to take up the call to be Missionary Disciples.
Attached you will find the Extraordinary Missionary Month Animation Guide. I hope you will find it to be useful for preparing for the Extraordinary Missionary Month of October. For example, it has a summary that could easily be included in a Parish Bulletin, and even a useful Homily outline.
If you click on the Pontifical Missionary Society material you will also find other resources that you may find both encouraging and helpful. Below you will also find a direct Pontifical Missionary Society link to an order form that you can use to order things like Mission Sunday Donation Envelopes, and Posters.

Pontifical Mission Societies challenges Canadians to jump into international digital campaign as lead-up to Extraordinary Missionary Month 2019
#MyMission
#OurMission
Toronto, August 19, 2019 – Society for the Propagation of the Faith announces today the launch of the Canadian component of an international social media campaign, “My mission is,” developed by the international office of Pontifical Mission Societies under the auspices of the Holy See, as a lead-up to October 2019 and in collaboration with believers worldwide.
With only 50 days remaining until October – the Extraordinary Missionary Month called by Pope Francis – Society for the Propagation of the Faith invites Canadian Catholics to participate in the international campaign by using the official template to write down what they believe is there life’s mission, in as few words as possible (see below for .jpg). Participants must then post a picture or video of themselves with their mission to their social accounts using the hashtag, #MyMission, while challenging others to do the same.
“We all have a special mission in life, which we carry out in love and solidarity,” said Fr. Alex Osei, national director of Pontifical Mission Societies for English Canada. “Our hope is to remind people of all ages that they are called to mission, through their baptism, and that God will give them the graces to live their mission to go out and preach the Good News of Christ, through deeds and words, to all the ends of the earth.”
About Society for the Propagation of the Faith
Society for the Propagation of the Faith was founded in 1822 by Pauline Jaricot to provide financial and spiritual support to help the Church continue its mission of evangelization in parts of the world with limited financial resources or new mission communities. Present in more than 140 countries, it is one of four societies operating under Pontifical Mission Societies.
The campaign has two phases. The theme, “My mission is”, will take place during August and September, with the second theme “Our Mission is”, taking place during the month of October.
To help Catholics prepare for the Extraordinary Missionary Month, Society for the Propagation of the Faith has developed a long list of resources available here, including a 15 page manual, available :
